To everything there is a season...

It was March of 2023. I came out to the studio on a particularly cold morning. Ice had formed on the deck stairs, which had been my usual path. Given my brand-new hip and the desire not to participate in a slip & slide experiment, I took the long way around to enter the studio by it's other entrance, the French doors. Just outside the French doors is a small sitting area with a mosaic table that I made several years ago from a beautiful Spanish pot that had fallen to the ground and broken into a hundred pieces. Over the top of the mosaic, I had placed a perfectly smooth round glass topper.

On that morning, as mentioned, ice was everywhere and as I approached the studio doors, the morning light on the table caught my eye. I stopped. I was speechless. Mother Nature had just left me the most extraordinary “hello.”

There on the smooth glass tabletop was a perfectly formed ice sculpture of The Tree of Life.

A key symbolic element of the Tree of Life is its ability to withstand harsh conditions and flourish again as it embodies the deep rooted characteristic of rebirth and renewal. Broken pots transformed into something beautiful? Worn out hips replaced and ready for a new adventure? Barren trees showing hints of fresh green buds after a long cold winter? Momentary glimpses of beauty that show up when the state of the world is a bit harsh?

Hope.

It's the hope of Spring, both metaphorically and literally.

Keep an eye out for it. Look for the beauty.

I wanted to reach out and wish you moments of delight as the days grow longer and new growth and renewal reveals itself in unexpected places, in... and all around us.

With Gratitude,

Linda

Happy Spring
